Our responsibilities
In addition to ensuring the puppies are safe and comfortable, we start early to encourage play drive. This encouragement takes many forms, depending on the age of the puppy. Opportunities for play are created indoors and out, with and without toys, with humans and with other animals.
Beginning very early in life, handling our puppies often is one of the ways we help start early socialization. Besides, it sure is a lot of fun for the humans.
Physically strong at birth, our puppies are eating solid food by the time they are three weeks old. They soon appear ready to take on the world. Creating varied opportunities for puppies to gain confidence as they explore their world is an important part of our responsibility as breeders.
Left, as the puppies get older creating an indoor "play pen" keeps the puppies dry and warm. Stocking it with real antlers provides them with many hours of fun. |
